Message from the President

Welcome Neighbors,

I would like to thank all of you who became new members of the CCNA this year and to thank those who renewed their memberships as well.

We had a successful “Gathering on the Greens” event at Ancil Hoffman Park in April. It was an opportunity to meet your neighbors and to bring residents of our neighborhood closer together in hopes of addressing community problems and issues. The meeting was attended by several county representatives, community officials and friends, who shared their experiences and expertise in an informal get-together.

Thanks to you, our membership has greatly increased this last year and we are continually attempting to improve ways to provide you with information that will keep you informed as to what is happening within Carmichael Colony. Our CCNA board members have been working on a variety of issues.

Several of these issues include:

*Neighborhood security.
*Updates on Effie Yeaw Nature Center & the American River Parkway.
*Budget cuts that have an impact on our community.
*The Fair Oaks Boulevard Improvement Plan
*Traffic and safety issues
*Our recent support of a new addition to the shopping center at Palm and Fair Oaks
*Monitoring future plans for Capra Park
*Participation in the Carmichael Adopt-a-Street Street Cleanup
*Sponsorship of the Saturday Night Concert Series in the park.
* Continually monitor the Carmichael Colony Neighborhood Preservation Area Ordinance, to insure the character and charm of the neighborhood is protected.

Through the energetic participation of our members, we can continue to make Carmichael Colony an even better place to live and raise our families. Included in our website is a membership form. If you are not already a member, we encourage you to join and also inform your neighbors to join.

As the new president elected by the Carmichael Colony Board, I am pleased to continue to work with a very energetic and hard working board.
